BT: Can you please share how you started your career as a ballet dancer?
I was a very active toddler. That was why my mum made sure to introduce me to all types of extra activities in the hope to drain my energy a little bit. After trying karate, gymnastics, and ice-skating, I went to ballet lessons, when I was 7 or 8 years old. And I have been dancing ever since.

BT: What is your favourite moment in your dancing career?
To be honest, I have had two potentially career-ending injuries. Indeed, each time the way to recovery was complicated and uncertain. However, managing to get fully back after each one of them was very rewarding and those moments became my favourite ones.

BT: Can you share what is your most memorable performance?
A very memorable moment was a few years ago when the Dutch National Ballet participated at the Lowlands festival. I remember at that time, the crowd was screaming and cheering in anticipation of our performance. The moment was so exciting and different from the audience we usually perform for since we felt like Rock stars for a day.

BT: What are some challenges of being a ballerina? And how did you overcome them?
Sometimes it's struggling to have a lot of shows in a row, and we often need to work on the weekends. In moments like this, I try to think about the audience and how special this particular evening could be for them. It helps me recharge my power and excitement to perform.

BT: What songs always make you feel like dancing?
A lot of songs I suppose. Cause the music is just natural and magical to feel like dancing for me.

BT: Can you share your guilty pleasure for food?
Frankly, I love oysters and can imagine eating a lot of them, but as you know, salty food can make you look puffy :D and it's a disadvantage

BT: BANANATIME is about taking moments to enjoy life. Can you share how you like to take a break, relax, and enjoy life?
In my free time, among other things, I love to practice yoga. It helps me find the balance in my life.
