In the lively and diverse Mexico City, we had the pleasure of meeting MarÃa, a talented and sensitive photographer, and JoaquÃn, a music producer and bass player from Technicolor Fabrics. These two young creative talents from the city. This inspiring couple sparked our curiosity, and we were eager to talk with them and learn more about their story!

BT: How did you meet?
M & J: Some mutual friends wanted to introduce us because they thought we would be a perfect match. They tried setting us up a couple of times, but we couldn’t find the time. A month later, JoaquÃn reached out to MarÃa on Instagram to invite her for drinks at a restaurant-bar MarÃa suggested (Farmacia Internacional).
BT: Do you think being creatives in different disciplines has brought you closer as a couple and as friends?
M & J: Definitely. We enjoy doing a lot of things related to art, food, music, design, and nature.
BT: How did you get into photography, and what do you enjoy most about working with it?
Maria: I’ve always loved the idea of telling stories. I officially started when I met JoaquÃn, as one of his roommates at the time (now a close friend) lent me his cameras to learn and fall in love with photography.
BT:How do you stay inspired with new ideas? Who are your influences?
Maria: Traveling always opens my mind—meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
BT:What do you like to do during your BANANATIME—that is, your free time to rest or relax?
Maria: Reading, going to the movies, and cooking.
BT:Any recommendations for Mexico City? Restaurants, bars, things to do, etc.?
Maria: Anahuacalli Museum, Chapultepec Forest, Café "Totte Para Todos," eating at Loose Blues in Juárez, browsing Antonia LibrerÃa, and trying GarcÃa Madero’s pastries in Condesa.
